FALL BALL OVERVIEW

This year ABYL is holding two separate sessions for Fall Ball.

Clinics are 1 hour and will take place on 8x consecutive Sunday Evenings.

Please note: Sessions have been split based on Team Groupings for Spring (K-2, 3/4, 5/6 and 7/8)

There is some flexibility to move between sessions. This will be done at the sole descretion of the coaches on site.

Various rule changes throughout the levels and safety concerns were at the forefront of this decision.

Safety: It is important to consider some 7/8 players are considerably larger in size and stature.

Rules: Long Stick poles for Middie and D are not introduced until Grade 5.

Additionally, even the most skilled 4th grader will play on a 3/4 team this Spring.

Session One: Sunday @ 6p

New players and those in grades K-4

We will still break players in groups based on their age and skill level.

  • No experience necessary.
  • Loaner equipment is available for those interested in trying lacrosse.

This clinic will focus on fundamentals: stick skills cradling, ground balls, passing, catching and shouting.

We will practice all basic skills in a station based, high touch practice approach.

Location:  Lower Turf fields

Time: 6-7 pm

Dates: September 3, 10, 17, 24 October 1, 8, 15, 22

Cost: $75

Session Two: Sunday @ 7p

Players with previous experience in grades 5-8

This clinic will work on refining skills, strengthening the players lacrosse IQ and doing the basics brilliantly.

We will practice skills in a station based, high touch approach and incorporate a style of speed lacrosse for scrimmages. Players at this level should be looking to advance their skills specific to position.

Location:  Lower Turf fields

Time: 7-8 pm

Dates: September 3, 10, 17, 24 October 1, 8, 15, 22

Cost: $75
